Hello everybody,
I just thought I'd share a few things from my trip tp Denmark this past week. If you are planning a trip here, you may find this information useful.
First on the list: Christmas Markets. I was pleasantly surprised at how many there were. Of course, most people are aware of the one at Tivoli. In my opinion that is the best one in Copenhagen. (Especially at night.) There are other good ones too. I didn't visit all of them but the following markets I did: Hojbro Plads ( Next to the Stroget ), Kongens Nytorv (Including the exterior decorations of the Hotel D'Angleterre and an Ice Skating Rink. ), Thorvaldsen Plads ( Very good Grilled Salmon and meats ), and Nyhavens Christmas Market. They are all very close and walkable, definitely worth a visit.
Helsingor and Kronborg Castle: There was also a Christmas Market at the castle. This year it was Dec 7-8. I had done some pre-trip research so I planned my visit here to coincide with the market. Definitely worth it. Really good market and made the visit to the castle that much more enjoyable. Helsingor is also very easy to reach by train from Copenhagen's main train station.
Copenhagen: Tivoli Gardens, National Museum, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, and Home of Carlsberg Brewery tour are all worth seeing. The brewery tour has some add-ons that are worthwhile. Probably a good idea to book online in advance.
Aarhus: Easy to explore. Great vibe. Very glad I visited. The Latin Quarter is full of great cafes , bars, and restaurants.
Restaurants: I had many great meals but honestly can't remember all of the places. I will however recommend two: In Copenhagen : Den Lille Apotek and in Aarhus: Mefisto Restaurant and Gardhave. (Known for it's seafood).
I hope someone can find this useful.
Happy Travels
