Croatia Parking ticket solution

Yes, I have already gotten 2 parking tickets in the last week…… Nothing I didn’t know already, but the cities where I have been have the nice system of “pay and display”. The paper parking ticket is left on your windshield (if your time expires) and I had to do a little research on how to take care of the first one (which of course was the same for taking care of the second one). So I thought I would pop it in here for any future careless parker…..

https://paydo.hr/ covers a lot of cities in Croatia. Just choose your city, create an account, enter your ticket #, then your card info. Easy. Also I think the ticket amount is cut in half if you pay within 48 hours. You can also do things like buy a daily ticket - or just hourly - but I haven’t tried those yet.

I AM going to try to avoid any more tickets…. 🤣

Just curious which city did you receive the tickets. We are in Rijeka and have noticed the significant increase in cars and decrease in parking spots. When we go into the city, we just automatically go to a parking garage now. We were in the city center yesterday for about 3 hours and the cost was $4.50 at the indoor lot. We are driving to Dubrovnik on Thursday but will drop off the car immediately.

Here's hoping that's the worst thing that happens....and you've got a good story to tell!

CWsocial, absolutely! The tickets are inconvenient but easy to pay once you find the right website (which is not on the ticket anywhere) and not particularly expensive.

Barbara, you aren’t far from me - I am right by Rovinj this week. :) I got the first ticket in Zadar, where I did pay but had a little trouble finding the apartment in the Old City, then didn’t rush back, and ended up being a couple of hours beyond the one hour limit. Then I got the second Sunday in Opatija when I stopped for lunch and for some unknown reason thought the sign said free on Sunday….. I should have known better by that point. I, of course, didn’t pick up a car till I was leaving Dubrovnik. :) Hope your trip is going well!

Getting a ticket in Zadar, Croatia because you couldn't find the apartment in the Old City is already a great story!!

If you have any story to tell the later generations I'm glad its as simple as this - and its like old home day here chatting about Croatia.

I hope all have a great day and enjoy either being in the lovely country or dreaming of it!!

Well today I tried out the website for adding parking and it was great. I drove to Motovun, paid for an hour of parking via cash in the machine below, then wandered and decided to eat lunch up there - so I popped on the website and paid for a couple more hours of parking. No ticket! No rush! Magic! And a great lunch!

Nigel, it’s a good place to dream of. :)
