If anyone's currently in Venice, what is the condition of the Grand Canal and smaller canals? News reports say they are dried up!
Going to Venice in 7 weeks; repeat trip.

We are in Venice now. The canals are full, and everything is normal (and busy).
The Grand Canal was never dry. That was “fake news”. There was an extremely low tide that emptied one or more of the small side canals—I saw the photos too. But that was a temporary situation.

We just spent four wonderful days in Venice before arriving now in Bologna. We walked every corner of Venice and saw no evidence of this “news”. The canals are full and active with normal boat chaos. This was our seventh visit to Venice and first during winter. It was cold but thoroughly enjoyable.
