My husband and I stayed in manarola and on Sunday we hiked from manarola to monterosso and back. It took us all day with lunch and coffee breaks. The last trail is still closed and so is the manarola to corniglia. We were able to take another trail a little higher and harder. I think that part of the trail took at least 2 hours. It was definitely worth it though. I wanted to post an update since I had a hard time finding much info.

Thanks for posting; your right about a lack of updates on the CT. I'm visiting in October for the 2nd time.

I'm sure many from Vernazza are still struggling from the flood to the point of neglecting the trail repairs. My take on it is they want travelers to eat in their restaurants, buy from their shops & not come just to accomplish the hike. Who is actually in charge of the trail itself anyway? I have faith the trail will be as it was in 2009, but all in due time. It was a highlight of my 1st time in Italy.
