Cheap (ha ha) airfare

I am traveling to Poland, Czech Republic, and Budapest with a friend from mid August of 2015 to mid September. We want to fly into Warsaw and out of Budapest, but aren't completely married to that idea. I live in Denver and she lives in Indianapolis. We are having a difficult time finding flights that allow us to make the overseas flight of the journey together. Also, the airfare already seems to be going up. Any recommendations?

Cheapest flights into Warsaw and home from Budapest will be from major East Coast city such as New York. So maybe you could each fly to NY and meet there before your overseas flight.

You will go crazy trying to chase cheap airfares. What is the difficulty in finding flights? You have to be creative in using the online search engines since they make a lot of decisions for you, but you should be able to piece it together. No reason you can't both fly to Chicago ORD and take LOT direct to Warsaw. Lots of flights to Chicago from both your cities. Or JFK, or Toronto.

Your best route might be for each of you to meet up in Detroit and fly to Europe from there.
Another option would be for your friend to fly to Denver on Frontier or Southwest, and then fly there.

David, LOT Airlines flies the 787 non-stop from Chicago, New York City and Toronto to Warsaw. They are a United partner, I believe.

Excuse me, but you're right about the LOT flight direct to Warsaw out of Chicago. I overlooked it.
You and your friend could possibly meet up in Chicago then.
Good luck on finding a fair airfare. Poland's not the easiest place to get to from the U.S., especially on budget airlines.

Thanks all for the helpful information. We had thought about meeting in Chicago... I'll check out the other suggestions as well.

Safe travels to all!
