Castle View Apartments Cesky Krumlov

It’s a mystery to me why Rick likes this place or how they get such good reviews on TripAdvisor. We found the service there quite inferior. First, when we arrived (in mid-afternoon) the sign on the front door said “closed” so I knocked on the door. The woman in Reception was quite annoyed by my knocking “it’s open” she snapped. I pointed out that the sign said otherwise. Their idea of “tidying up” your room means replacing some-but not all-of your used towels. Nothing else. They don’t make beds or anything else the term “tidying up” might suggest.
But here’s the worst thing: Long before our trip we decided that we wanted to go to Mikulov after C.K. with a stop in Trebic to tour the Jewish Quarter. I sent emails to several places including the hotel to see if they could make transportation arrangements for us. I received several replies and ended up using Sebastian Tours because they had the best price and best reputation (and well deserved!). On the morning of our departure a guy appeared in the reception area and introduced himself as our driver. We loaded up and started out of town. We asked him to stop at a grocery store so we could buy some water. When we returned to the car he said “ We have a problem. Some guy from Sebastian Tours came to the hotel and said he was there to pick you up”. “Aren’t you from Sebastian?” We asked. It turns out that without my instructions or consent the hotel arranged for this guy. Fortunately we hadn’t left town so the Sebastian driver (who I had already paid for!) showed up and away we went.

This June we stayed at Villa Beatika in Cesky Krumlov. It was absolutely fantastic! It's about a 10 minute walk to the center of town, and located on a hill, so the castle views are amazing. We stayed in the John Lennon room, which had a balcony and to-die-for view of the town and castle. Spotless and spacious room. The breakfast was by far the best we had in a month of traveling this summer. Huge selection and delicious. The woman at the reception desk couldn't have been nicer. We got there early and she invited us to have coffee in the breakfast room while they finished getting our rooms ready (it took less than 1/2 hour). She helped us with restaurant reservations. They were happy to store our luggage after we checked out. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in CK!

We stayed in the Castle View Apt in March, had the attic room, and loved the place. It was a studio apartment with a kitchen, and sofa sitting area. The location was perfect , and for us, the service was great. We would definitely stay there again. I'm sorry you had a poor experience.

Sorry about your experience, we stayed there a few summers ago and had a wonderful experience. We were two couples and stayed on the bottom floor in the 2 bedroom apt. We even received a 10% discount having Rick's book.
