Budapest September 2012

We(8 people)recently returned from a Danube River Cruise that ended in Budapest. We had gotten the name of a guide - Andrea Makkay - from Ricks guide book. She arranged to pick us up from the ship with all our luggage and do a half day tour then us off at our hotel in the afternoon when we were able to check in. She had also checked to see what we had seen with the cruise ship overview tour the day before, so we did not duplicate anything. She was very knowledgeable and accomodating, as well as being very personable. She was unavailable the next day, but arranged for an associate, Silvia, to guide us and again it was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend that anyone looking for private tours in Budapest contact Andrea. They were the best tours we had on our entire trip. Dont miss the Parliament Building or The Opera House.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for the info! We have been considering a river cruise. What company did you use, how did you like it? We have never done that before but it sounds like fun! Thanks again!

We were on a Uniworld boat. It was great. Service was wonderful, food was great, and the crew was very friendly and personable. it was our third trip with Uniworld and we've enjoyed them all.

I think a river cruise sounds interesting. What would you say the age range was for passengers?

Not a lot of young people. In would guess the youngest in their 50's and most in their 60's and early 70's, but still very active. Our group is mid to late 60's and we fit right in.
