BOEE 6/23 - 7/7

A very quick report as we end our extra day in Bled before heading to Munich. Our tour guide was Katka Svobodova and Mitch was our driver. We had full tour group of 28. It was a very good group, we all mixed well and really enjoyed our time together. Central/Eastern Europe is having a bit of a heat wave so plan according if your coming this way. All the hotels were excellent to needs to be improved. No AC in the Lake Plitvice hotel and the Eger hotel was the lowest RS standard of my 3 tours. The only real draw back was our dinner in Eger. It took the restaurant staff over 3 hours to get through the meal with some of the tour members not getting some of the promised items. Katka did everything she could but it was just a not an enjoyable experience. So avoid the HBH restauranty if you can. All the other meals were very good but my favorite was Cafe Central in Budapest. My favorite location this trip is split between Krakow and Rovinj. We loved the hike through the lake but the crowds spoiled some of the charm. My overall favorite, where all the different beers along the way, and of course the great friends who traveled with us and the new friends we made.

What was the hotel you stayed at in Eger, and why was it so terrible? I'm guessing it must not be the usual hotel the RS EE tours use? Was anything done to compensate the group for the terrible experience?
The hotel we stayed in on the tour last year in Eger was quite nice, so I'm guessing it wasn't the same place. The dinner was served buffet style so there was no waiting.
