Day 2-- The breakfast at Pension Lindner was (what we would come to learn) a typical buffet. Cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, fruit, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee, and some serious crusty rolls with jams and butter. Definitely not what we would eat at home, but you know the old saying.... 'When in Rome...' Everything was really good and we enjoyed the company of the other guests. After breakfast, we walked back to Marienplatz and ended up hooking up with a walking tour of the city. It gave us a great overview of the city. We saw the Frauenkirche, Englischer Garten, the Hofbrauhaus, Opera House, Maximillianstrasse, the Bavarian State Chancellery, and so much more. Our guide touched on the Residenz and I was intrigued by the shell grotto that I could see through the glass. After the tour ended, we grabbed a gelato and just kept on walking. We went through the Holy Ghost Church and St Peters and St. Michaels churches, and one of them had a choir that we got to watch. We bought and shipped home, the first of 5 steins. That was really all we got, no other souvenirs to speak of except steins. We had gotten a data package for the day and ducked back into the nice and quiet Holy Ghost Church to buy some concert tickets on our phone. We then just kept on walking and ended up at Augustiner Beer Hall for dinner and beers. Our meal was just so-so but the atmosphere was great. We ended up having a conversation with the people at the next table, and when they found out we were Canadian tourists, the wife turned up her nose and begged us NOT to go to Neuschwanstein. All she would do was roll her eyes and say ugh. I had to laugh as I thought of some of the posters here. After dinner, we hung around Karlsplatz and watched some band that was playing. We took the long way back to the pension, and there was also a band in the street just outside our window. We watched them for awhile, then headed back to our room for a long loud sleepless night. But who cared.... we were sleepless in MUNICH!!!
