Beautiful Normandy

We contacted Overlord tours and hired a private guide, Jordan Eudine. Ours was a two day tour in a very comfortable van. Our group was my wife, adult son, his girlfriend and I. We have an interest in WWII history and were anxious to see the D-Day sights. Jordan took us to Omaha and Utah beaches, Sainte-Mère-Église, Pont du Hoc, the American Cemetery and other interesting historical sites, hitting all our high points and then some. He is very knowledgable and entertained/educated us with many stories about what we were shown.

Our second day was a trip to Mont St.Michel, which was a bucket list sight for my wife and I. It was a bit of a drive from our hotel in beautiful Bayeux, but a lovely trip. Mont St. Michel exceeded our expectations. What a treasure! We were fortunate to have the mont mostly to ourselves, most likely due to the transportation strikes in France. Be prepared for a hike though, it's a lot of steps, but well worth the visit. Make sure to visit the abbey(amazing!).

Normandy is one the most beautiful places we've seen. We went in December though and there was a bit of weather. We dressed accordingly though and had a great time.

Merci Beaucoup Jordan!

I stayed in Mont St. Michel many years ago and absolutely loved it. Glad you had a great trip.

Jason, so glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and tours. Where did you stay in Bayeux? Any particular place you would recommend to see/eat while there? We are staying there for 5 nights in May, also visiting the American beaches and MSM. What time of day did you get to MSM? I’ve heard the crowds are so bad, so we are planning on driving out early from Bayeux (yes, we do realize this is a good 1.5-2 hour car trip) early in the morning and then head back visiting St James Cemetry and an abbey on the way back. We both have read several books on the invasion and will be visiting a few museums while there.
