Just got back from 11 days with our granddaughters in Barcelona. They are 5 and 8. Before the trip, I bought the book, Mission Barcelona: A Scavenger Hunt Adventure. We pretended to be secret agents searching for clues (how many bats and dragons on the exterior of Gaudi's Casa Batlló). They needed to be running around and climbing, so we searched best parks for kids. Hands down, the winner is Parc de la Pegaso, a short train ride from city center. It features a giant octopus climbing structure, as well as a young children's playground, zip lines, and trails the kids can run and climb on. It was so entertaining, we went on three separate days. Highly recommended for young ones.
Thank you, Mindy. We are visiting Barcelona with our grandkids (the same age as yours but ours are boy and girl). The book and park information are really helpful.
Do you have any other suggestions for visiting Barcelona? For us, this is a last minute decision so any information will be helpful.
Thank you!
We spent a happy hour or more chasing bubbles at the Arc de Triomph park. Two or more men blow GIANT bubbles and our girls were enchanted, running around trying to catch and pop the bubbles. We also took the funicular to the Castle at Mont Juic, and that’s a good place for them to run around while you enjoy the beautiful views. Have a great time!
Great ideas, Mindy! Thank you for your reply.
The more research we do, the more excited we get!
