Barcelona trip report in April 2026

We visited Barcelona for the first time in April 2026. We brought the RS Barcelona pocket guide dated August 2023. We found that prices were really different from the book, in some cases almost double. In other cases, various ticket options were no longer available, or booking procedures had changed, or tours themselves had changed. For example, the tour of La Pedrera now proceeds in the opposite order of the way it is described in the book. I recommend that once you have planned what sights you are interested in, to then visit each website individually and see what is now available and what it will cost.
Also, it's been noted elsewhere, but it's easy to fall for companies tricking you into thinking you are on the official website when you are actually on their site, and you end up paying a lot more. Despite trying to be vigilant about this I fell for the 'Feel the City' Sagrada Familia tickets and paid twice what I should have. The url seems to be the only way to tell.

Good advice. Also, I think that it takes a while for updates to make it into the pocket guide editions -- better to get the full-size city guidebooks. I noticed some years ago that a pedestrian part of the book's Eixample walking tour no longer allowed nonresidents to pass through, so you had to go around the next block to rejoin the flow of the walk, but this info didn't make it into the print editions for a pretty long time.
