After reading all the reviews on Pensione Guerrato, I settled on it even though it was more expensive. The service and the room were beyond disappointing. The female receptionist that checked us in was very unfriendly and the other staff unresponsive to our complaint that the room smelled peculiar - like a dead rat to be exact. The smell persisted through our stay and it was just room # 13 - not the public areas. They never got back to us on it and nor did they do anything about it. Further, the room itself - supposedly a quad - was so small that the beds took up all the floor space. Now when I look at my emails from them, I see that originally we were supposed to get a quad on the top floor. Other reviews say that it is large with a view. Not so for our 2nd floor room. I specifically told them it was for 3 adults and a 16 year old. They should have been more upfront about it and we would looked elsewhere. Sorry Rick - I trusted your judgment and I am disappointed.
