April 2026 Week in London

Had a fun week in London. Sharing our experiences here.

Sunday. Arrival day. We stayed in a flat in Highbury on the Piccadilly and Victoria lines. The neighborhood was quaint and had many locally owned shops. We dropped off our bags and got some Turkish food. Once settled in we did some local exploration before going to a local pub for Sunday Roast.

Monday. East London. Went on a food tour of the neighborhood, then extended it into a diy street art tour. Headed back home before getting dinner at a lovely Italian place in Stoke Newington.

Tuesday. South bank. Walked the South bank with picnic lunch from Borough Market. Went to the Leak Street Graffiti tunnel. After a rest at home, got fish and chips and saw a show.

Wednesday. North London. British Museum, British Library, St Pancras, Camden Town. Dinner at a local pub.

Thursday. Central London. Shopping near Oxford Street. Lunch with an old friend. Afternoon tea in Highbury. Show in the evening.

Friday. West London. V&A museum, Kensington Gardens picnic lunch, Leighton House. Dinner at same Italian restaurant in Stoke Newington.

Saturday. Food tour in Notting Hill. Fly home.

Below are some local businesses that brought us joy.

Navigating the tube strike was fine. We used buses a bit more than expected but it was all pretty smooth.

Glad you enjoyed yourselves. IMHO London never disappoints. Always changing, always the same.

This really sounds like a terrific stay, seemingly not a first time visit. My kind of week in London, bookmarking!
