We had a private wine tour in the Cote du Rhone area + Chateauneuf-du-Pape with Wine Prestige Tours and absolutely loved it -- it was our favorite activity in our 2 1/2 weeks in France (it's not in the France RS guidebook but it should be -- it has a five-star average on Trip Advisor!). Pierre comes from a family of winemakers and several generations of living in Chateauneuf-du-Pape and really knows the area and wine.
Pierre has developed such a great relationship with the winemakers in the area that they just give him the keys to their place! Pierre then took us around the grounds and explained that particular winery’s process – we were able to tour areas that we would have never seen otherwise, including some of the families’ personal wine cellars with bottles dating back to the 1950s.
You couldn’t ask for a better experience with Pierre – he’s an expert in wine, a local to the area, and one of the friendliest people you could ever meet. I also appreciated his prompt communications and commitment to ensure that we had a most amazing experience.
