Acropolis elevator disabled access

If traveling to Athens Greece just a info the elevators that goes from the north entrance up to the acropolis is NOT working and no one knows if and when it might work again. We found out when we arrived and where told that at the gate. There where also Zero signage for the elevator until you came up to the north gate

You can make it up just slow if you have any issue , we took lots of breaks and brought lots of water. There is REALY no shade on top
if you come up right at morning opening it’s not to crowed . If you using a wheelchair I don’t see how you can’t even get up to the gate.

When we left around 10 am the groups came and it become crowded
The south side is a very uneven way small in places and equally as step as the north side

Just for info

I am sure you notice that the American Anti-disability act only applies to the US. As we have aged we are slowly avoiding some areas of Europe. But we had made it a point o hit those areas hard in past years. Now we return and enjoy what we can.

Crud, we are visiting in October. We know many Greek friends who have homes over there. One has been building a small house in Chios, one land left by their father, which took over 20 years to get the proper papers of ownership and permits. The house is in its second year of construction.

We are not confident it will be fixed by October.
