A great guided tour of Pompeii

I traveled to Naples last Easter and had a fascinating trip. One of the highlights was a guided tour of Pompeii and the Archeological museum. I got the name of a guide from one of Rick Steves books on Naples. Her name is Giuseppina Esposito. Her email is giuseppina.esposito20@istruzione.it She is a PHD in archeology and an expert on the history of Campania. Her English is very good. She took us to the Pompeii site in the morning where she guided through the physical remains of the City, bringing it to life with her enthusiastic descriptions. And then she took us to the museum in the afternoon to show us the amazing statues and mosaics that were found at Pompeii. She particularly taught us how life back in 79 AD was not all that much different than life is today, at least when it comes to the basic human needs. It was a splurge, but I knew we would probably not ever return so I wanted to get as much from my visit as I could. And I am very happy I did. We still talk about our experience and what we learned from it. And she was a great part of that. I highly recommend her to anyone else who wants to have a deeper understanding of the city of Pompeii and indeed of Naples.

We were just in Pompeii and really enjoyed it. We didn't have the guide you mentioned, but ours was also very good. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
