London 2012

Our 3 year in the making European trip finally happened this year. My husband and I travelled to London, Paris, Bayeux (on the Normandy coast), Rome, Florence and Milan (leaving from Seattle). London was our first leg and with the help of Rick's books, we stayed at a wonderful B&B in Belgravia, near the Victoria Station (Cartref House). It was simple but served a hardy breakfast daily. Someone posted that the Tube was complicated. We found it very easy to learn and get around. We were there for 4 days and did as much as we could, until we left for Paris on the Eurostar. St. Pauls, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the Parliament Buildings are so beautiful. We also did the London Eye, and the National Gallery. Of course, the Tower of London was a must too. My mom was born in London, so we also traveled to the street that was on her birth certificate, and that was very emotional for me, as she passed last year at age 92. The people were friendly and we just loved it!
