Just returned from a 12 day trip to Italy and Paris. Rick Steve's guidebooks and apps were invaluable. One complaint I had was with his recommendation of Albergo Barbara in Vernazza. I had two or three email exchanges with Patricia who sounded very professional on paper. We also contacted her two days before arrival to assure her we would arrive before the 5:00 pm deadline! Our email was acknowledged. Upon arrival and the four story climb in a dark stairwell, Giuseppe took our two night's fee in advance and showed us to our room-great view but extremely hot. I found a fan in the closet but it was not working. We never saw Giuseppe again nor did we ever meet Patricia. It was dangerously hot so we took cold showers and wrapped our necks in wet towels! Very disappointed in management of this Albergo Nd would not recommend staying there.
