2 weeks in western Europe with kids

Hello! I previously posted about a 6 week trip in Europe with kids (5 and 3 years old). We have our first four weeks established (Greece > Spain > Portugal > France...!). The final two weeks are not yet organized, and we're looking to hone in on 2 places to end our sejour. We'd like to spend about a week in the Chamonix region, and then we still have about one week (more or less) to get in order.

Any low key, beautiful places you'd recommend to situate ourselves for 4-7 days in western Europe? We're hoping for someplace peaceful, charming, and quiet with plenty of room for the kids to run around and explore. Extra points for relative affordability :) We'll be coming from Paris (or Chamonix) and will need to fly back to the eastern US on July 1 (likely from either Geneva, if we end in Chamonix, or Paris).

Thanks!

The way I usually settle this type of situation is by finding the "best" flight home. "Best" for me is a low(ish) fare for business class or premium economy, direct to one of two "home" airports, paid for by points. "Best" for you might mean something different entirely, especially when traveling with kids, but I suspect direct to your home airport would be right up there. Your trip sounds amazing. Have a great time.

Thank you! We’re feeling flexible re return airport (pros and cons of each airport, and we’re flying back to a major US city, so plenty of good options). Do you have any recs for sweet, nature-oriented spots to visit in eastern France or thereabouts? Thanks!
