Travel Partner...I Bet You're Out There

Hello Peeps - I just returned from a month long tour of Greece. Actually 2 back-to-back tours. The first was fine, but the second one, "Island Hopping" included little opportunity to get into the rhythm and savor the flavor of the islands. It made me long for independent travel.

Unfortunately, my best travel buddy is no longer available. Although some completely solo travel is fine with me, a solo month in Greece didn't float my boat, hence the tours. Having someone to share the ups and downs of independent travel is my preference. I'm a reasonably fit 70yo woman who has a moderate adventuresome streak. I love smaller towns, interacting with locals, and find connecting with kids especially rewarding.

I have no specific plans at this point, just putting feelers out. Get in touch if you want to explore a possible match.
Thanks

It sounds like you had an amazing adventure overall, even if the island-hopping tour felt a bit too fast-paced. Greece really shines when you can slow down, wander through small villages, and just let the days unfold. If you’re looking for more independent-style travel without being completely on your own, you might enjoy mixing self-guided exploring with a few local experiences.

When I was in the Cyclades last year, I booked a small group day trip through Palmara Charters, and it ended up being the perfect balance, casual, friendly, and a great way to meet other travelers without being locked into a full tour schedule. Something like that could give you the social connection you’re looking for while still allowing you the freedom to explore towns, chat with locals, and enjoy the slower rhythm you prefer.

You sound like a fun and easygoing travel partner, your interest in small communities and connecting with kids says a lot about how you travel. I’m not planning a Greece trip at the moment, but I just wanted to encourage you: there are plenty of travelers out there who prefer meaningful, flexible experiences over rushing from island to island. Posting here is a great start, and I’m sure you’ll find someone who fits your style. Safe travels, and keep those feelers out!
