I posted here several months ago, asking if anyone would be in Paris this Fall and got multiple responses. I've met with several people so far, in addition to meeting a few others who post on the France forum frequently, and have at least one more person to meet with in November. They've all been interesting folks and I've enjoyed our discussions and meals together. What a great way to meet folks abroad!

Actually Holly, it's a great way to meet some very good friends! That's also what's so much fun about the monthly "Travel Meet-Ups" because we all have something in common--our love of travel so we're instantly friends!

Well, I've seen Darcy in Paris, Italy (Venice & Siena), and she's come to Sacramento twice. I will be seeing SharYn in Paris in a couple of weeks. Of course SharYn only lives about 90 miles from me. I occasionally go to Bay Area travel group meetings and she occasionally comes to ours in Sacramento. Some of us from these groups have developed friendships and we occasionally do things outside of the meetings.
I hope you're enjoying your time in Paris. I was going to suggest we meet up, but I wasn't sure I would have the time. Besides seeing SharYn on our arrival day, I need to see my 'son' who lives in Paris. He's a former exchange student. And someone may be popping over from England. I wish I had more than a week!

.....and I hope to eventually meet the Sacramento group AND the Marin/Larkspur group, because I'm in the Central Valley and can drive to both venues. It will have to be after Christmas, though.

Darcy, it's not too late to buy an airline ticket for Paris. We are meeting up on the 5th. ;-)
I wish I was going to be there in April, but it's unlikely. After 7+ weeks over two trips to Europe this year, and a trip to NYC in December, we will probably stick closer to home next year. But you never know... Hey, we could meet up in NYC!

Andrea and SharYn, I just don't think November is going to work for me. It's hard to justify 4 trips to Europe in 2016! But do have a glass of wine for me!
