Solo in London May 22-28

London is one of my favorite cities and when I found myself in possession of an airline voucher expiring in June and no one to travel with, I decided to just go on my own! I plan to go to museums, markets, a daytrip or two and see some West End shows. I’m 55 and interested in meeting up with like-minded individuals to explore or have a meal with so I hope to hear from fellow travelers.

I won’t be back until September but I hope you enjoy your visit.

You probably already are familiar with London Walks...great way to see various neighborhoods.

There are also countless “meetup” groups in London though I’ve never tried one.

Yes, I plan on doing some London Walks and a couple of their daytrips as well. I’ll look into the meets ups, thanks!

Hi Claudette, I spent 5 days in London alone in Sept and it was marvelous (I have lived there in the past as well) and happy to share ideas. I will be arriving in Paris May 23rd if you might consider switching trip locations. I'd love to add London to my trip and join you but after 5 weeks I'll probably be ready for home.
Aside from shows and museums (love the V&A) I especially enjoyed Portobello Road (wow its grown), Kew Gardens and evensong at Westminister Abbey and St. Paul's.

I live in CA as well and often looking for travel buddy. See my post regarding Italy/Croatia

Hi Marilyn, that is so tempting to hop over to Paris but I’m pretty much set with hotel reservations and a 3 night trip to York on May 28. My dates are 5/21-6/2. I’ve got a growing list of what I want to do including 2 daytrips so I may even run out of time in London! If you decide to stop in London please let me know!

Btw, spent a weekend in an airbnb in Capitola last summer and went to one of the free concerts at the pier in Santa Cruz. We had so much fun that we’re thinking of making it an annual trip!

oh too bad, I'm going to be there one week later! Some years ago I used to meet up with locals who I did find on couchsurfing. This was very nice!
