I understand that you want to go to Istanbul with someone and see the city. Did you consider going on the RS 7 day Istanbul tour. He does not have any weeks in August, but he does have weeks in Sept. I am 52 years old and have been on 9 RS tours (most of them alone) and had a great time. You get to be with other people, yet have plenty of free time too. And if you don't want to go with the tour, just let the tour guide know and go off on your own. I am going on the RS tour in the beginning of Sept and am looking forward to it. I know people from my past tours that went on the Istanbul tour and loved it. Something to consider if you cannot find a person to go with you to Istanbul. You won't be alone on the tour, but you will be able to do what you want during your free time. Just a thought. Have a safe and great time, whatever you decide to do. Ann

Dana, I will be in Eastern Europe this summer and I'm open to travel anywhere, any time. I have been to Istanbul since '89. It's a cool place.
