Adriatic Cruise with pre and post

I'm an over 65 female who has traveled quite a bit, but other than Dubrovnik have done little on the Adriatic. My sister and I discovered cruising a few years ago, and were surprised that we really liked the convenience. She is unable to go in 2014, so I'm looking for a roommate. The cruise begins the 29th of May for 12 days. I travel cheap, so am interested in an inside cabin. (I'm only in there to sleep) For pre or post I'm thinking Plitvice, Ljubliana, or Paris. The Siena area is a favorite of mine also. I'm open. I normally use local guides and transportation. Anyone interested? I'm a walker, but not a hiker. History, art and culture are my main interests. Any interest?

Hi Penny,
This trip sounds intriguing! Alas, I don't finish the school year until mid-June as I'm a teacher at Port Townsend High School (world history). In every other way, it sounds as if we're othe same page. Dubrovnik and Split are at the top of my list and a cruise sounds like the way to go. I've taken students to (loved it) but Croatia is just too hard to fit in to a 10-day student itinerary. Good luck! If your dates change, let me know. As long as I'm still teaching, travel dates have to work around the school calendar. If you're ever up this way, drop me a line and let's go have coffee or something.
