(Virtual) Sacramento Travel Group Meeting - June 20 @ 10:00

It's that time, so let's meet up to discuss a favorite topic - travel!

Our Panera has reopened, but I'm sure they will not allow a big group like ours to gather. There would be no way for us to keep socially distanced. I thought about meeting at a park and David even went by McKinley Park in East Sac to scope it out. I'm not sure it would work out. I think we should Zoom again this month. I will host and send out the link to join the meeting. I read that the Zoom app should be reinstalled so be sure to do that.

If anyone wants to join that hasn't received an invitation from me, let me know.
Couples please share a device.

Hopefully we can do something about an in person meet up in July.

Zoom on ! (Full disclosure, I bought 50 shares of Zoom in May after using it a few times.) Miss being with you all face-to-face, but not driving 1-1/2 hours each way has its advantages.
"See" you on the 20th!

We plan to Zoom. We have domestic tickets to visit family (who may not want us; ) in June and international tickets in July-August that we haven’t dealt with yet. Oh where has the time gone!

I'm looking forward to seeing all of your faces! Mona, I totally understand what you mean. Unraveling plans isn't nearly as pleasurable as making them. I still have 3 Airbnb reservations to cancel for September.

We just arrived home from an RV trip to the Monterey area. It was nice to socially distance at the ocean and we appreciated the cooler weather.

Well, let me go check my calendar (footsteps fading...footsteps growing closer). Looks like I’m free! I’ll see y’all then!

It looks like we might have a few new faces this month.

It's a good thing we decided to do a virtual meeting again instead of meeting at a park this month. I just saw the weather forecast for Saturday is 100 degrees.

I might like a new face this month...plus a few other new & improved areas (eye roll)...

Laura B, our house is very energy efficient and we can avoid using the AC most of the time. Even when it's in the high 90's. Our AC works great though, so we are good.

Eileen, don't we all?

Nigel, you're in luck. The forecast for tomorrow is now only 96 degrees. I'll have my air conditioner on just for you.

We haven't needed the house heat in months. Next week the forecast Monday-Friday ranges between 100-102 degrees. But as we like to say, it's a dry heat. I was out of the house today before 6:00 a.m. to take my walk.

I think I will pass this meeting as I have a special delivery to do later and I haven't really adapted to Zooming well. Hoping to see everyone maybe next month?

And yet, Rob ... there you were. EDIT - as Andrea noted, another Rob.
Great meeting -- I think I counted 20 people participating from 3 countries and multiple states. My apologies for my abrupt departure; our alarm system had gone wonky in the middle of the night and the alarm repair person showed up at the door to fix things.

Laura B, that was a different Rob. :-)

For next month we will see how things go, both with Covid conditions and the weather. Although our Panera is open I'm sure they will not be welcoming 20ish people crowded together. I wouldn't feel comfortable with that anyway. That leaves two options. 1. Go to a park where we can socially distance from each other. The park would have to have bathrooms and shade. 2. A virtual meeting via Zoom. July is the 10 year anniversary of the start of our group and I would dearly love to see everyone in person to celebrate. That will require not only an appropriate outdoor location, but also that it not be too hot. We should have a better idea about the weather about 10 days out from the meeting. I think I'll do some park scouting in the next couple of weeks. Susan and Monte previously mentioned having a meeting at their lake, which would be another option. It would be a bit further for some of you. Me, I like the idea and it's closer than Panera. Stay tuned for more details...
