Tulsa Area Travel Group Meeting, September 19, 2026

Well, I don't know about the rest of the country, but the weather in Northeastern Oklahoma is making us long for Paris in August. (Of course, some of us long for Paris any time of the year!) I've been told that we have just had the hottest August ever, with the most days of triple digit temperatures since the Dust Bowl, and we're looking at another 10 days at least of the same. Yikes! What could we possibly have to look forward to to keep our spirits up in this unseasonable season? Hmmmm... How about a monthly get-together with affable folks who, like us, spend their time dreaming about travel?

The next Tulsa Area Rick Steves Travel Group Meeting will be Saturday, September 19, at the Panera Bread at 41st and Hudson in Tulsa (that's 5601 E. 41st, between Yale and Sheridan), at 9:30 a.m.

As usual, we're looking for a great exchange of stories, tips, and questions. We want to hear your stories, answer your questions (and ask our own!), see your photos and scrapbooks, and share your enthusiasm. As always, all travel related topics are open for discussion, and all comers are welcome. It's an open forum - come join in the fun. No judgment; newbies are always welcome. There is truly no such thing as a stupid question; we've abolished that term from our vocabulary.

If you love to travel, or would like to travel, or are curious about travel, come join us. Anyone is welcome; you don't have to have been on a Rick Steves tour, or any tour at all. You'll recognize us by the RS books on the table, and the big smiles on our faces.

They are a nice group. Really. Join them. I flew in from South Carolina just to hang out with them once. They were very welcoming! And recommended a Cajun restaurant in town where I had a good meal.

Dave! How good to hear from you, and how kind of you the urge people to join us.

We enjoyed your visit so much. And two of our people have followed your example of making trip memory books, I believe using the same platform you used!

Thank you so much. What a pleasure it was meeting you.

It was a pleasure to meet you and the rest of the participants, too! I'm glad to hear that some of the members found the memory books to be a good enough idea to do it themselves. I'm still making them!

Hope your meeting goes well!
