Tulsa Area Travel Group Meeting November 19

Can you believe it's already November??? And in Northeast Oklahoma we've been basking in 80 degree weather - until yesterday. It finally feels like fall.

Our last travel group meeting of the year will be Saturday, November 19. We're meeting at Panera Bread at 41st and Hudson (that's 5601 E. 41st, between Yale and Sheridan) at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22. We'll be there until about 11:30 or so; I have an appointment at noon, and Kim has to go to work. If anyone else wants to stay longer, of course they can.

This month I'll be showing how I pack for three weeks (or longer) in my Appenzell backpack, and I hope Kim will bring her rebound guidebook again to show folks who couldn't come last month.

If you love to travel, or would like to travel, or are curious about travel, come join us. Anyone is welcome; you don't have to have been on a Rick Steves tour, or any tour at all.

You'll recognize us by the RS books on the table, and the big smiles on our faces.

Thanks, Kim. I think it's the fourth. When are you going to be back in Oklahoma?

I will be there.... I am doing the route 66 5k, but will be there afterwards. I can stay as long as needed. I put down on work calendar that I will not be there!! Hooray!! Have worked 5 full weeks on my part-time job. arrghh two days a week has turned out to be 6 days a week. But $$$$ to my trip fund. LOL

Hey, Green Country, don't forget our meeting November 19, 10 a.m. at Panera at 5601 E. 41st in Tulsa. It's supposed to be about 30 degrees cooler than it has been, so come have a café latte or hot chocolate with us, and discuss all things travel. See you there!

What a great meeting! Bill was off work, so he could come, and Stan was back in town. Kim did the Rte 66 5K, but managed to join us. And... two ladies sitting at the next table kept glancing over at us as we were chatting about Spain, Italy, and Ireland, and after we overheard them looking up plane tickets to Heathrow, we had to meet them! Liz and Anne are happy travelers, and will be joining us in February. They can't come to our January 21 meeting, because they're going to be at the Ice Hotel in Sweden. Are these our kind of people, or what?

Oh, and Jane made a believer of Kim: clothing and toiletries for any length European trip in an Appenzell backpack, with room to spare!

Yes Jane - You beat me to the punch! I was so excited at Liz and Anne over heard. I have met another person who is so passionate about travel. Where has she been all my life! LOL. .

And yes, I can't believe Jane got all that stuff in her backpack! I bought two of those back packs on sale with our $100 tour credit.

Kim, I forgot that you and Bill stayed after Stan and I had to leave. How long did you stay? Did i miss any good discussions Did you learn more about Liz and Anne? I showed Liz how to find this forum, and she bookmarked it, but I didn't get any contact info for her. If you did, PM or email me.
