TOPICS for May 6, online

Barbara N will share her beautiful book of Hawaii travels
diveloonie with travel tales from Germany, perhaps with pictures 🤞🏻
Carol will share stories of her trip to Italy; we'll see if there are time for pictures (arrives home on May 5, photo book done by May 6 - wow!?!) but most likely we'll save her pictures for the following meeting.

Please let me know if you have travels to share, including upcoming summer/ fall travels!

May 6 is possible for me - depending upon adequate WiFi or cell service. No way to know just yet. :) I hope it works because I would love to see Barbara’s (and Tammy’s) book!

diveloonie, we'd love to hear about Germany, with or without the photo book. If you don't get it done in time, we'll save it for another meeting. But we definitely need to hear all about it!

TexasTravelmom, there will be a place for you if your wifi permits.
Diane and ponygirl813 - you're in!

Carol, are you back? will you be back by May 6?

I have a free night certificate for marriott that expires in mid june so I want all y'all to help me get out of my rut and come up with a short trip to use it on in the near future. Sacramento to see the Crocker museum? Reno? Seattle?

Oh, a trip to Sacramento to go to the Crocker sounds perfect! There's a Residence Inn just over a mile from the Crocker. You can stop at the Cathedral mid-way, tour the capitol, and visit the Stanford Mansion!

That's my vote!

Yes, we’ll be back, barely. Getting home late May 5. I plan to be at the meeting and can share my Italy photo book if there’s time. Of course, that’s assuming that all goes smoothly on the trip home. Hope to see everyone there!

May I?

I'd love to hear Tammy's report. Carol and I had lunch with Jo the day before she met up with Tammy.

Oh, Carol, I always think there will be time for 3, and I'm often wrong. Or we rush through, when I'd really rather savor everyone's stories. Maybe that's my own evolving travel preferences coming through.

At the very least, I want to hear about your trip on May 6 (or is it trips, are we behind by one?) even if we have to wait for the next meetings (online and in-person) to see photos. I loved seeing Barbara N's book in person, by the way. So maybe we do both!

Avi, the Crocker is great and there are other things to do nearby. Have you been to the Railroad Museum in Old Sac?

I think we might be able to make the in person meeting on 6/22. I have a dental appointment at 9:00, but should be done with my teeth cleaning by 10:00. We have too much going on for the May 6 zoom, unfortunately.

I'll send links for the May 6 online meeting early this coming week.

And I'm looking forward to another nice group in person on June 22. Carol, please bring your photobook then, regardless of when we see it online. I enjoy the extra stories we get to hear when we see the books in person.

Wow, June sounds so far away! I should have the book from this current trip ready and will bring it and our Italy book as well. Whatever there’s time for next week is fine with me. Since we will be getting home late on the 5th it might be best to just listen 😏

I'm glad that everyone eventually made it in to the meeting, with its additional security steps.

Thanks to diveloonie and Barbara N for sharing their trip photos. And it's so nice to hear from everyone who is getting back into travels!

Good meeting! Thanks, CW and avi! I loved Barbara’s report on Hawaii - it’s an island I haven’t been to yet and looks like I need to. And I know I said it, but Tammy did a ton of things in Germany! And I love how you met up with people. :) It was nice to see new faces. :)

Thanks, all - especially since I probably won’t be able to make June or July with bad timing on meeting days.

P.S. Let me know if you want me to message you a link to a few of my current trip photos.,
