Should be doable for me; some preference for Orinda.

My sutures are supposed to come out on the 13th. Supposed to.

avirosemail, glad you can make it!

I'll choose location based on the size of the group as the Walnut Creek location is much (much) easier to secure more seats.

OK, with this size group, we will meet in our Orinda location. Message me if you need details, but I think you all have been there. We'll be outside, if weather allows, so dress warmly.

If it's too cool, we can go inside....if there is space.

I can clear space in the room no problem -- have not been able to do laundry for a month.

avirosemail, can you clear the fog?

On this side of the tunnel, we have had low, thick fog. I thought it might be going away, but it is back this morning. If we have it tomorrow, I won't be driving on the highway. (This morning, I couldn't have even driven locally, at low speeds.)

Are you all getting the fog on the other side of the tunnel?

Everyone, please check this space tomorrow before you leave to assess the fog situation and decide whether it is safe to drive on the highways.

Thanks for the heads up on your fog!
I’ll definitely check tomorrow, but fingers crossed!

There's no problem at the moment on Highway 13 or 24 west of the tunnel as far as I can tell.

I'm looking at the fog today, at about the time I would need to leave tomorrow. It has lifted enough that driving should be ok, so fingers crossed that tomorrow's fog is similar. I'll post around 10:30am tomorrow to let you know what I'm seeing and make my decision. Worst case, there's nothing to stop you all from going.

Great to meet a couple of new people in person today instead of just here in the forum.

Regarding the roll-aboard piece that fits in the smaller overhead intra-Europe requirements, the brand is U.S. Traveler and the dimensions are listed as 13.5"L x 7.5"W x 21"H.
Capacity is just under 30 liters, more if expanded.

Depending on the color and the day of the week it can be had for under $40, including a matching handbag 5" x 9.5" x 14" with a trolley strap.

So, it is usable and cheap, nothing to boast about but should do the job for minimalist packers. I'm trying it out on Frank's recommendation. One thing I notice right out of the box is that the handle has 5 height stops, and it feels light for a bag with wheels.

Avi, at the meeting you mentioned the name of a possible guide in Saint Jean de Luz. I didn't write it down and now I don't remember it. Could you let me know his name? It will be useful in case we run out of things to do.
Thanks, Carol

Hi Carol,

His name is Fran Glaria; he works as a RS guide as well as his own tour business, centered in Pamplona.

He and Jorge Roman have a weekly podcast in English (of a sort) called "Spanish Loops" that you can find wherever you get your podcasts. Look at the back episodes for the places you mentioned and you'll find relevant info; fun walks on his youtube page as well.
