Sacramento Virtual Travel Meeting - Saturday September 19 @ 10:00 a.m.

Hey gang, it's that time again.

Time to talk about travel dreams, plans, memories, etc. Sadly it’s going to be virtual meetings for us for who knows how long. Let’s look at the bright side. We don’t have to drive anywhere and pants are optional.

I will do my best not to whine about where I should have been on meeting day...Bavaria...😢

I’ll send the Zoom link out. If I've forgotten anyone, please let me know.

See y'all soon!

Sorry to miss you all, but prior commitments -- we will be Zooming Rosh Hashanah services on September 19. (We have the apples and honey already.) Wishing everyone a sweet new year.

Thanks for setting this up, as always, Andrea.

Planning to attend, though I agree our original plan to meet at Theresienwiese on this day (19th) would've been great. We're looking to reset (Oktoberfest) for 2022, perhaps we can align schedules/travels for another dunkel.

Yes Matt, a meeting in Munich would have been wonderful. I’m so happy I didn’t buy the tickets to Oktoberfest that were offered to me. I hope the GAS tour happens for you in 2022. For us, I’m thinking the Oktoberfest ship has sailed and won’t be part of a future trip. Never say never I guess, but the itinerary I have worked out for a trip next year, fingers crossed, won’t be taking us to the same places.

There’s a German restaurant in Rocklin that has an outdoor area. Maybe we could meet up to do our own Oktoberfest there? Of course we would need to wait until the air isn’t so hazardous from the fires.

Toll! I’ll start lining up my German steins right now. The Oktoberfest beers are already in the fridge, so I’ll see you Saturday!

I may have to leave early, though......(burp) ;-)

And our ability to Zoom on Saturday will be AQI dependent. If too high we will hunker down at home to Zoom, if low enough we will be helping with an outdoor project at our son’s house... Stay tuned.

Mona, although we would like to see you Saturday I’m hoping for better air quality instead. Yesterday was the best we’ve seen it in weeks. It was just unhealthy for sensitive groups. At least it seems to be headed in the right direction. My daughter is moving up to Washington tomorrow and we are driving up there next week to deliver her car. The air is even worse up there right now.

It looks like the air quality will be fine tomorrow. Too bad we don’t have a safe place to gather outdoors. Maybe next month?

I'm going to try for the meeting - it may be the last on line one for a while if you all want to go outside into clean air (my brother in law who lives near Yosemite says the air there is awful today - the fire that caused his evacuation to the ocean is now 10% contained and they told him today that they hope to have it contained in mid-October if everything works out, BTW).

If I don't make it, we are preparing a Devotional for a very good friend, a lady with very advanced cancer and other problems who will be passing soon, and that may overlap.

I hope to be there, at least for a little while..

Nigel, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. As for future meetings being outdoors, I hope that can happen but I’m not holding my breath for it to happen any time soon. If we don’t see you today we mostly likely can see you next month.

A last-minute run to SF (family) prompting me to miss today's gathering. Best end-of-summer wishes and look forward to catching up in October.
