Sacramento (Virtual) Travel Group Meeting - Sat. 8/15 @ 10:00

Hey gang, it's that time again. Time to talk about travel dreams, plans, memories, etc. Sadly it’s going to be virtual meetings for us for who knows how long. Let’s look at the bright side. We don’t have to drive anywhere and pants are optional.

I sent the Zoom link out. If I've forgotten anyone, please let me know.

See y'all soon!

Just FYI I am leaving tomorrow (Sunday) morning for a camping trip near Mt. Lassen. From what I understand the wifi isn’t reliable, so if I don’t respond to anything you will know why. We are coming home Thursday. I’m looking forward to socially distancing in the great outdoors.

Andrea, glad to see you are still travelling. I've been to Tahoe twice for day trips and we are going to Yosemite for a few days at the end of the month. Don't think I'll be part of the zoom meeting, but my first question is up in the Italy forum about our next planned trip to Europe.

One good thing about having a Zoom meeting rather than meeting outdoors somewhere is avoiding the heat. Tomorrow it is going to be 107 degrees. Let’s all Zoom from the comfort of our air conditioned homes. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone.

Just curious. Was it cooler up at Mt. Lassen where you’ve been this past week?

Slightly cooler. I only went up to approximately 8,500 ft. It was already fairly warm at 10:30ish. The following morning Jim and a friend climbed to the top. Elevation 10,473 ft. At 11:20 it was 80 degrees already. This coming week is going to be brutal. Thankfully the hottest day (111 degrees F or 44 degrees C) is the day we head for Oregon. We will be in Oregon and Washington for 2 weeks. I’m hoping it will have cooled off a bit before we get home.

Will you still let us in if we don't have air conditioning ?? ;-) We will have a fan going until Nature's air conditioning (i.e. fog) comes in from the ocean.

Sure, rub it in. I’ve been talking to my brother in Berkeley today. He’s been taunting me about how much hotter it is here. The joke’s on him, because he has to come up here on Monday. Ha!

Don’t count on fog coming in, there was none today and none expected for many days. The next few days are supposed to be very hot in the Bay. Sausalito was HOT at 10 am this morning, never a good omen... 😰

I'll see you all tomorrow (now that I realize that today was, in fact, Friday, and that I haven't missed it.)
I hope this is just corona confusion...
;-)
