Sacramento Travel Meeting - Saturday June 20 @ 10 a.m.

It's that time again to meet with fellow travelers to talk about --- travel!!

As always, we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Location-
Panera Bread 3571 North Freeway Blvd. Sacramento. This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Everyone who wants to discuss their upcoming trips, reminisce about past trips, or just hang out and talk about travel is welcome.

Who's planning to be there? Everyone is welcome, but it's a good idea to let us know. It gives us an idea of how many people we need to have seating for.

Just a courtesy regret, we'll be away on the 20th and on RS Tour during July's get-together. See you in August (be here 'fore we know it). : )

I'll miss you all this month as I will be traveling ... but just to Santa Rosa for the weekend!
I hope to see you all (y'all) in July!

Have fun Matt!

Wow! Is anyone going to be there? David, I can guarantee we will be gone by 3:00. At this rate we may wait until about 11:00. If no one shows we will take off. If we are lucky (but I don't think we will be) escrow will close on our new house on the 19th. We will be pretty busy when that happens.

I can finally make it to one of the meetings but it appears as though all of you will be away in July. I will try to meet everyone in August, I suppose. Happy travels!

Elizabeth, there will be some people there, just not the big crowd it usually is. Sometimes that is an advantage. :-)

Happy Birthday David! Enjoy your day! My friend Marie is talking about going on the tour and was going to come to the meeting this month to learn more. I'll see if she is available next month instead.

Sorry I won't be there... your meetings are always so fun!

Monte and I will be there and also a friend of mine that is planning a trip and needs guidance.

Is it Anne or Elizabeth? Don't get discouraged with the responses. We always have people that come that don't respond at all. Plus, if it is a smaller turnout you can get more help or more discussions about Europe!

Happy birthday David! But, I would think we would rate much higher than your car club, even if it is only once a year.

Grüezi aus der Schweiz! I gniesse mini Reis! (Monte das ist Schweizerdeutsch für : Ich geniesse meine Reise!)

Greetings Sacramento Travel Group. As you know I will miss the meeting because I have the audacity to be traveling in Europe. So far so good! I have mostly been visiting friends and family, but on Sunday I went up on Ebenalp in the Appenzell region, and then hiked down to Bergasthaus Aescher to have lunch at the small cafe that is seemingly hanging from the ledge of the mountain. Wednesday I will head to Milan for the day to go to the World's Fair Expo 2015. On Saturday I will be in Scotland. Do you want to try a video link at 10:30 or 11:00 on Saturday? I will be eight hours ahead of you. I have a MacBook with me so I am not sure which system we should use, suggestions?

Gute Reise!

What Susan said. We're looking forward to seeing you and Monte Saturday.

Kevin, you are excused for not attending the meeting. This one time. :-) It sounds like you're having a good time. We can try facetiming. I'll PM you my cell phone number. In case we don't connect, enjoy the rest of your trip!

Does FaceTime work from my computer to your cell phone? I have not done that before.

Hmmm...I would think you could FaceTime my iPhone from your Mac. It works like Skype, but only between Apple devices. Check your computer to see if you have or can get FaceTime on it. I'm PMing you my cell number right now. Okay, not right now. As soon as I finish typing this!

David, Alles Gute Geburtstag! In honor of your birthday Eileen & I are raising a glass of Pinot to you on Mt Hood, the new Panera annex!🗻🍷.
Kevin, have a great time. We'll expect the full report when you get back. Prost!
Panera Peeps: with such a small group, you'll get a chance to visit with everyone!

So Eileen, does that mean you are bringing anniversary cake to the July meeting?

Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow. We can talk about everyone else. ;-) I think we should do something special for our 5th anniversary next month. Those of us there tomorrow can discuss.

Since I won't be there, feel free to talk about me -- but just remember that I can bring brownies (or baklava or another baked goodies to be named) for the July meeting. Especially if Eileen brings limoncello.
Side note on packing -- for a one week car trip I've packed about three times as much as for a month in Europe because ... well, because there aren't any airline weight or size restrictions, just what fits into a Volvo station wagon.
Have a great meeting !!

Lauri, you had me at brownies and baklava! Don't worry about us talking about you. If we do, it will only be to discuss how we love your goodies.

Too funny about packing more on a short car trip than an extended trip to Europe. I do the same thing!

We had a small meeting today, peaking at 7 people. Eileen did FaceTime from Oregon, where she and kat are escaping the Sacramento Valley heat. Next month I expect we will be back to our regular numbers to celebrate our 5 years of meetings.

While the wonders of travel in this day and age are getting ever easier, sometimes the technology we rely on just does not cooperate. I was trying to get a connection so that I could face time you all from Scotland, but it was not to be at the appointed time. Apparently the connection at the hotel does not have the bandwidth to support streaming video and the like. Well anyways, we tried. But, ended up having a great dinner with friends and family, actually eating outside on a beautiful sunny evening, not dark really until about midnight and then just dimly lit. They call it the summer dims. And then light again at 4:00 am. Safe travels to all of you.

David, "Every attendee gets a ticket..." Woo Hoo! Surely that would be an airline ticket to Venice, so we can start the tour in Padua. I'll be there with bells on! I'll give you my passport # so you can proceed...

"So Eileen, does that mean you are bringing anniversary cake to the July meeting?"

Laura B, I'm planning on jumping out of the cake. Susan, that will be your party favor ;-)

David's giving away airline tickets! YEA! I'll be there!!! BTW, I have time off next May, too...
