Sacramento Travel Meeting - Saturday 9/19 @ 10:00 a.m.

It's that time again to meet with fellow travelers to talk about --- travel!!

As always, we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Location-
Panera Bread 3571 North Freeway Blvd. Sacramento. This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Everyone who wants to discuss their upcoming trips, reminisce about past trips, or just hang out and talk about travel is welcome.

Who's planning to be there? Everyone is welcome, but it's a good idea to let us know. It gives us an idea of how many people we need to have seating for.

See you all ( or y'all) on the 19th.

Also, does anybody have recommendations for New Orleans?

Donna & Denis, we'd love to see you! Just enter the main (large) dining room and we'll be at the long center table. You can't miss us ;-)

Laura, I have the most basic of recs on New Orleans...probably nothing too original, though!

Oh - I'll be there!

Susan, Monte gets a pass since abalone trumps a meeting. Just saying. And if you guys want to bring some of that delicious abalone to our house, I'd be happy to cook it for us and of course eat it. I'll provide the wine and sides. :-)

We won't be at the meeting this month. We will be in Victoria celebrating our 30th anniversary. I can't believe I'm missing two meetings in a row. I can't wait for October to catch up with everyone.

Let's see, Monte does the diving to get the abalone, you cook it and provide wine and sides.....sounds like a pretty good offer to me! I say....YES!

Have a fabulous anniversary celebration!

Hello!
I am planning on attending. :)
I need help with my trip I'm planning in March!
21 days with my daughter and her boyfriend. (Maybe I can rope them into coming)
I hope it's ok!

Great, Stay-ce. One, two or three, no problem.

The SF/East Bay contingent will be carpooling, so we'll all arrive together.

I'm sorry to say that our plans have changed and we will not be in California. I was so looking forward to meeting you all and having questions answered.

Donna and Denis, I'm disappointed you can't make it! Keep us in mind if you're ever in the area...

Abalone, eh?

Hmmm....

Who else remembers the story from a couple of decades ago of San Francisco firemen, abalone, and trouble at an empty firehouse?

Nigel -- sorry, I don't remember that (and I have lived/worked in the San Francisco area since the late 60's ) But then, there's a lot I don't remember even from last year.

What I DO remember is when abalone was cheap enough that I would order it in restaurants. So Susan and Monte, if you invite me to abalone dinner I'll bring a HUGE pan of baklava.

Anne, we look forward to meeting you! We'll be at the only long table in the center of the dining area; there will be at least one little Rick Steves phrase book laying on the table so you can find us :-)

Continued Happy Anniversary, Andrea & Jim!

Let's see, wine, sides, and now, " I'll bring a HUGE pan of baklava"! Sounds like a party!! Little does Monte know I've just made plans for his catch.

Why do you wait for us to be gone to bring a surprise? Monte won't mind sharing his catch. I'm sure of it. ;-)

Careful with the post immediately above offering free travel. While the number looks like California, he spammed over nearly a dozen Forums here inside 5 minutes.

All over the twittersphere and internet, too.
