Sacramento Travel Meeting - Saturday 12/19 @ 10 a.m.

It's that time again to meet with fellow travelers to talk about --- travel!!

As always, we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Location-
Panera Bread 3571 North Freeway Blvd. Sacramento. This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Everyone who wants to discuss their upcoming trips, reminisce about past trips, or just hang out and talk about travel is welcome.

Who's planning to be there? Everyone is welcome, but it's a good to let us know. It gives us an idea of how many people we need to have seating for.

We'll be there (2), sounds like a wonderful respite from last-minute Christmas shopping and navigating the mall parking lots.

Off topic, but I just want to say that I miss Eileen here on the forums.

Karen, I didn't realize she was missing. I guess that shows how little I've been on here lately! I saw her just 3 days ago and she is fine. I'll mention your comment to her. She was always one of the best parts of this forum. Maybe she will come back.

Does anyone know if the eastbound exit on Truxel is still closed?

Andrea, Google Traffic shows that intersection as clear; story goes that last month's closure was due to the rain (Yea, Rain!!!) that put the project a few days behind. BUT REMEMBER - it will be the last Saturday before Christmas, and that area is fairly dense with retail stores. There Will Be Traffic 8^O

Shucks, Y'all ;-) I've missed you, too. I've made no secret that I believe the untimely death of the Helpline to create the unwieldy monster now called the Travel Forum was a huge mistake. These days, I usually end any session on the forum feeling more frustrated than energized, as I was nearly every time I spent time on the Helpline. And who needs more frustration?!? Certainly not moi...So because you're such a great group of people, I occasionally traipse through the All Topics and see what's happening. These days, it's usually once a month when I check-in here for the Sacto group meetings. So...Hiya!!!

Oh, ahem, I'll be there ;-)

(I'm gonna try to squeeze into my Rockettes costume for you. 'Tis the season and all.)

BTW:

"I'll mention your comment to her."

She never did.

"She was always one of the best parts of this forum"

I guess that makes up for the above ;-)

Eileen,

People are missing you.

There, done. :-)

As you know, I have been very distracted the last few weeks. And I truly appreciate your concern and help. I'm lucky to have such a good friend.

I plan to be there. Anyone who is coming west-bound on I-80 and willing to give me a lift from the Volvo dealer at the Madison exit, please PM me. I checked Regional Transit--2 HOURS! I don't think we are in Europe Toto!

It is good to see you again, Eileen. Here, have a BBQ sandwich. I got you sliced, because that's what I prefer, but if you want chopped I am sure I can change it. A roll, some coleslaw, some beans and some tater salad. Drink of your choice - I'll have a biiig old glass of tea.

Andrea, you know that you have been in our prayers recently...

Thank you Nigel & Susan.

Kevin, I may need to drive that way on Saturday. I have a phone number for you that I think is right. Do you have mine?

Careful, Nigel! Eileen is already full of beans.

Kevin, I can take you home from Panera.

Thank you everyone who has offered a lift in the morning. Matt got to me first. If the car gets finished before we are done, I may hitch a ride back to it as well.

Thanks, Kevin

Your Baklava? WOO-HOO! I was just thinking about it last night...

Kevin, if we don't see you after awhile, we'll send out a search party ;-)

Yes, the time does seem to go by very fast at these travel meetings. I'm impressed by how many trips people have managed to take, without anyone being part of some jetset. Also, interesting that so many have a personal connection to Europe, through good friends or relatives, though that is probably one incentive to travel. Btw, what happened to my goodie bag from Eileen? Who took it, time to fess up.

I think kat liked the baklava!

I hated leaving so early. I'll make up for it next month. Yes Rob, the time does fly by at the meetings. I'm glad you enjoy them.

Oh no, Rob!

While I was conducting Apple seminars (yeah, right LOL!) at one end of the table, perhaps the Grinch casually strolled by and made off with your goodies!

I'll have to fix you up next time ;-)

David, I think we need some chess timers; we can use them to do our meetings like speed dating, so we can get up every 20 minutes and visit with everyone!

See y'all Jan 16th!
