Sacramento Travel Meeting- Saturday 10/20 @ 10:00 a.m.

It's that time again to meet with fellow travelers to talk about --- travel!

As always, we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Location - Panera Bread, 3571 North Freeway Blvd, Sacramento. This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Everyone who wants to discuss their upcoming trips, reminisce about past trips, or just hang out and talk about travel is welcome.

Who's planning to be there? Everyone is welcome, but it's good to let us know. It gives us an idea of how many people we need to have seating for.

If it's your first time, look for the Rick Steves books on the table.

Hi, entertainangels! I look forward to meeting you. Just a suggestion - but certainly not a requirement: if you have specific questions in mind, let us know here on this forum topic so we can be better prepared to answer you. For instance, if you want help with the Paris metro, we can bring metro maps. If you are interested in General Germany travel, we can bring our Germany books, etc. Be advised it may take some of us more time than others to dig those books and maps out of storage ;-) Of course if you're aren't taking a trip any time soon, you can always get that information at a later date...

Oh - I'll be there Saturday. Wear your best Halloween costume; Ed said he will be in his; probably as a European tourist ;-)

I had a nice time at the Bay Area meeting last Saturday. On the way there from where we were staying in Petaluma I saw a sign advertising a French Flea Market at the Civic Center in San Raphael the next day. Apparently it is held on the 2nd Sunday of the month from April - October. It reminded me of the Vanves Flea Market in Paris, on a smaller scale. The problem with going to the flea markets in Paris is that I can only consider something small enough to fit in my carry on suitcase. This time we had a pickup truck. :-) Just in case anyone is interested when they start back up next spring.

Kat -- Costco just got Khombu boots ($24.99) back in stock; warm feet, good tread on icy streets worked well for me last Christmas. And since we don't get much snow and ice in SF, didn't want to spend $$$ on winter boots.

Lauri....That was the first thing I was going to ask you! Couldn’t remember the brand of your boots! Thanks!
Happy feet!

Kat, I bought those boots at Costco last year and love them. The style is slightly different this year, as they have added a strap with a buckle. I'm sure they are still just as comfortable. I think they are $24.99.
