It's on our calendar but we probably won't have our pictures together since we won't be back from Frankfurt until Sunday ... so may still be going through a month's worth of mail (and laundry! )

At the Bay Area Travel meeting today, Susan told me this group is great -- I'm planning to be there!

BG, it would be great to see you again!

Laura, I hope y'all got to meet Jo for coffee...and FWIW the Women's Room at Panera has two sinks; I figure we can string up a clothesline outside between two umbrellas (or bring them inside in case of rain) and get your (sink) laundry done in no time! Your mail is YOUR problem ;-)

See ya there!

Alas, didn't see the note from Ms. Jo until we got home so we didn't meet her in Frankfurt -- but we DID get to try green sauce and apple wine. And spent the last night at the Hilton at the airport getting re-Americanized so we'll be ready for Panera.

Jo took us to a great place for dinner, where I enjoyed the green sauce and apple wine. It's the same restaurant she took Rick Steves to. Jo, what is the name of that place?

That was Dauth Schneiders. My favorite Frankfurt style restaurant. Atschel is good too, but I like the applewine garden at Dauth better.

Sorry to have missed you Laura. Next time.

We ate at Apfelwein Wagner -- just walked down Schweitzer Strasse on the bus driver's recommendation and picked a place. (I only know the name from the coaster. I brought home.)

Thanks Jo.

I just got a flyer in the mail for the Travel Adventure Show at the Santa Clara Convention Center. It takes place on February 7 & 8. The speakers are Rick, Samantha Brown, Patricia Schultz and Peter Greenberg. I have a promo code for $9 tickets. Is anyone interested?

Wish I could go, Andrea. Just don't have enough time since we have wedding planning to work around.

Nice to see you guys are still doing this. Forgot about it when I came back from my Oct trip. Heading out Friday to Edmonds, attending the RS seminars this weekend, first time.

Enjoyed my trip last Oct. Italy was warm, it had been 23 years since my return to Italy, I lived down south while in the Air Force. In Rome for 3 nights, saw the major sites, upset that Trevi Fountain was under repairs. Enjoyed the food, especially the spicy sausage pizza, my favorite. Rome more crowded then what I remembered. Took my fist Selfie in the Colosseum, great. Walked everywhere, it was great. Stayed at Hotel Aberdeen, met a group of folks finishing a RS Tour and another group starting a RS Tour. Perfect location, less than 10min. walk from Train Station. Took Italotreno to Florence, nice ride. Florence for 2 nights, first time there, easy to get around and see the sites. Venice for the fist time as well, Italo train again, highly recommend them. Venice for two nights, a third would of been perfect. Enjoyed it very much, plan on returning again some day. Easy to navigate on foot and by water bus. Weather warm. Stayed in B&B Zaguri, just 5 min. from S. Maria del Giglio stop, put us less then 10 min. from Piazza San Marco. Paid for private water taxi on arrival. Was just perfect, sun out, cruising the Grand Canal, standing up in the back and just enjoying the sites.
Ahh Paris. Did Paris for 6 nights, first time. Plan on returning in 2016/17, loved this city. Enjoyed the food, sites and atmosphere. Did the standard tourist sites, used all of RS advice and had reservations, tickets purchased, arrived early to beat the crowds, just perfect. Next time will be end of May, beginning of June so as to enjoy the gardens in full bloom, and then a Christmas week there as well.

Off to Vilseck Germany this may to see my son and his wife, he is in the Air Force. Will be hitting Hallstatt, Salzburg, Munich and Ludwigs castles. May work in a day to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Was planning on a RS Germany, Austria, Switzerland Tour, but this may hit most of it.

Would anyone like some lemons from my tree?

Posted by

Si - I'll always take your extra lemons...IF Susan & Monte don't take them all first. They're like that.

I never knew that Jo dated Rick Steves...

And if there are any lemons left...Hope we don't get trapped by the tule fog.

David, you'd better hurry; you know we don't stick around for very long ;-)

Laura, FWIW, the fog situation should be much better by Sat morning...so they say...but please be very careful. And don't try to come if the fog is still bad!

But wait...there's more! I already have them in the car so I won't forget them. If I get a chance I'll pick some oranges to take with me.

Wow. Didn't I just say that Susan & Monte are like that?

Andrea, perhaps we should make a private deal at your car...

They DO have coffee at Panera, right? I can't get my eyes open :-(

Kat, I will rely on you to determine who has the most lefty Meyer lemons. Or should that be the best nuclear free Meyer lemons?

BG, I'm so happy you and Sharyn fought through the fog and joined us. See you next month!!
