Sacramento Travel Meeting on Saturday 9/17 @ 10a.m.

It’s time for another meeting! Do you like to talk about travel or are you obsessed with traveling? Come join us. The more the merrier!

The meetings are always on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m.

Location:
Panera Bread, 3571 North Freeway Blvd, Sacramento.
This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Anyone wanting to attend is welcome. If you need help planning a trip, we have a lot of well traveled people who are happy to give help and advice.

If you’re coming I would appreciate it if you reply to this post that you will be there. It gives us an idea of how many people we need to have seating for. If this is your first time, you can find us by looking for the Rick Steves books on the table.

I won’t be around for the next few meetings. Can someone please arrive a little early to set up the tables?

I shall be in attendance ;-) I’ll get there early enough to snag The Great Table so we can talk about those not in attendance.

Just so you know, I plan to talk about all of you that day. Just in case your ears are burning you’ll know why.

@dplaunderville ... hey Dave, chat away but we have a good excuse (for once) for our absence; just arrived in Trier for start of GAS Tour tomorrow. Been in Bruges since last weekend, so trading in the monastic beers for (pre)Oktoberfest variety. Been living on chocolate and waffles, the tofu and sprouts can wait awhile. :)

Hope everyone has a fantastic gathering tomorrow, look forward to catching up in November (attending family wedding 3/Sat-Oct).

Have a great time Matt! I think Rob is in Italy. We’re in Edinburgh, but leave Scotland on Sunday and move down to England. Enjoy Oktoberfest, it’s too bad we can’t meet up like our plan was in 2020.

Just got back home yesterday after a very busy but enjoyable trip. Pretty exhausted still (having bad sleeping issues related to jet lag and getting back into the swing of things here) so probably wont make it tomorrrow, but hopefully next month.

Welcome back, Rob. And thanks, Andrea. Thought you might've been on 'the tellie' (BBC), in the queues to pay respects in London; but sounds like that part of your adventure is still yet to come. What a historic time to be over there. Where were you guys on the Eighth and how/when did you hear the unfortunate news? Safe travels and catch up soon!

Welcome back, Rob.

Matt, we were in Portree on the Isle of Skye when she passed. I saw it on my phone when we returned from dinner, and shortly afterwards we had the most spectacular sunset. I liked to think of it as the Highlands sending her on her way. I can’t post it here, but I’ll text it to you. We will be in Liverpool on the day of the funeral. We missed her by two days in Edinburgh. We leave here Sunday.

Matt, just realized you may not be able to text. I’ll email it to you.

Wow, Andrea, now that memory (day's sunset, and context) is a Keeper!

All the best for remainder of your trip, it'll be great to compare notes back at our local biergarten. :)

Yes, looking forward to sharing our experiences and the local biergarten is the perfect place to do it.
