Sacramento Travel Group (Virtual) Meeting - Saturday July 18 @ 10:00

Hey gang, it's that time again. Time to talk about travel dreams, plans, memories, etc.

This month marks 10 years of this groups existence and I was hoping that we could have this meeting in person. Considering how bad things are here right now, I think it best to carry on with the virtual meetings.

I recently was involved in a large Zoom meeting and the subject of having topics was discussed. I know that's not our normal way of doing things, but what do you think? Let me know here or by PM if you have an opinion.

I sent the Zoom link out. If I've forgotten anyone, please let me know.

See y'all soon!

My audio splitter arrived today (part of my online shopping haul), so Ed and I will both be able to hear the conversation through his-and-hers headphones. ;-) Happy 10 years !!

@Nigel, good suggestion.

@Laura B., does this mean Ed will be allowed to speak? 😆 We haven't been using headphones. What would be the advantage of that?

Hi Andrea! Our local group here in the Capitol region may be meeting that Sunday the 19th or the following one, but I will keep tabs on your monthly announcements and hope to pop in sometime in the near future.

I’m not a fan of topics that are beaten to death already on this forum, ie, packing, jet lag, Covid or Covid-related, airlines, refunds, etc.

A general question just to start out, like, what was your favorite trip, what’s your favorite place, what are your favorite hotels, what “out of the box” fun things do you enjoy on a trip, are good.

Thanks Andrea for all you do!
Thank you for starting and continuing this wonderful group!
10 yrs??!! Wow!!

Susan, I like your ideas. We are a casual group and don't tend to run out of things to say. We've had in person meetings last up to 8 hours. Lol! I think strict topics might be better for groups of people that aren't familiar with each other.

Andrea, yes Ed is allowed to talk (occasionally) ;- )
Advantage of headphones is that my defective ears can hear the entire conversation. Since when I plug in my headphones the sound from the laptop speakers is muted, our options are two sets of headphones or none.

Laura B, thanks for the explanation. I thought maybe I was missing out on something. We look forward to hearing from Ed. ;-)

Wow, congrats on the 10 year anniversary. I can still vividly remember my first meeting in 2015 which seems like just yesterday. Not really into the Zoom format and I do have a special delivery I have to make this morning, but I'll be thinking about you guys.

Fun meeting today. Not quite as good as an in person meeting, but these days we take what we can get.

Lauri & Ed and Mona & Dave, thanks to you for making celebratory brownies. I will trust that they were delicious. I made ice cream to celebrate our travel group anniversary and National Ice Cream Day tomorrow. A batch of Moose Tracks (vanilla with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and fudge swirl) and a batch of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. I'm sure both would be good for brownies ala mode. ;-)

See everyone next month!
