Sacramento Travel Group Meeting - Saturday 10/15 @ 10:00 a.m.

It's that time again to meet with fellow travelers to talk about --- travel!!

As always, we meet the 3rd Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Location - Panera Bread, 3571 North Freeway Blvd, Sacramento. This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Everyone who wants to discuss their upcoming trips, reminisce about past trips, or just hang out and talk about travel is welcome.

Who's planning to be there? Everyone is welcome, but it's good to let us know. It gives us an idea of how many people we need to have seating for.

Does anyone have a hideaway tote bag or something similar that I can borrow for my trip to Paris in November?

Turnaround is fair play -- will bring my don't-tell-Rick bag next week.

Or would you prefer the Euro tote ? Both are "blue spruce" (green -- hey, I didn't pick the color names) Will bring both.

Thanks Lauri! I'm looking for something I can stash into my suitcase and use for things I buy. I'm thinking I'll do holiday shopping there. Does the euro tote smash down flat?

Well, it did come in a flat box, but it doesn't flatten as well as the don't-tell-Rick bag which squishes into a little packet. That one was carried inside my Euro tote, which was my "personal item"

The don't-tell-Rick-bag would be better I think. I used to have two of them, but can only find one now. I keep all my travel items together in plastic totes and the 2nd one is definitely missing. I'm now keeping track of what I loan out and to who. :-(

My other thought is to use a larger suitcase than I usually do. I've always carried on before, but this trip is different. We are flying RT to Paris and not going anywhere else. Decisions, decisions...

Where is everyone this month?

I'm here which is where I am.

Nigel, I'm glad you are where you are supposed to be. I won't be where I'm supposed to be until later.

I'm not sure where I am, but I'm pretty sure I don't belong here.

But I am planning on being at Panera on Saturday.

I can't make it to Sacramento this time, nor next month either, but I hope to see you all in December and/or January. (Andrea, I'll see you in Paris ...)

Hmm, things are looking kind of slow for tomorrow, but I'm guessing that there will be a late surge of attendees.

To paraphrase Jeff Spicoli, "If I'm here and you're here, then aren't we here?" It stands to reason that if we're here, then we will likely be there. Of course that is if there is a there there. I am sure Eileen is in mourning over her Texas Rangers faltering to the RCMP's or make that Blue Birds.

Oh, gee - I was only 2.5 hours away from the stadium but so overworked and exhausted helping my m-i-l recuperate from surgery that I COMPLETELY FORGOT the playoffs. Unbelievable. Apparently it was a blessing in disguise. I'll just keep those Texas Rangers flags nice and ready to fly in the spring...

Since not everyone who attends posts their intention to do so, I expect our normal large group. See everyone there!

...and the large crowd did indeed show up. It was great to see everyone! Unfortunately, I was too exhausted to make a complete sentence and I needed to leave (very) early (for me) to run a Mission of Mercy (aka collect a friend from the hospital and get her home and cozy). I actually went to bed at 7:30. I expect to be fully recovered, sleep-wise, by next month's meeting! I apologize in advance ;-)

I hope y'all carried on a long time after I left...

Eileen, I missed catching up with you, too -- so November for sure. We left about 1:30 and just got home before the rain hit Oakland. There were still a number of the regulars going strong when we bailed.

Eileen, this PT appreciates the rescue from the Cream of Wheat Buffet.
Thank you for your Mercy.
