Reminder—-Seattle/Eastside Travel Book & Map Exchange, Saturday May 13, 10 am til ?

It looks like the weather will be favorable, so the meeting is ON. Details of location (and of course a map) are in this thread:

https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/travel-meetings/seattle-eastside-book-and-map-exchange-may-13

I will claim a table in the picnic area marked on the map of Luther Burbank Park, and probably have a red-checked tablecloth to mark it. The lawn area overlooks the lake and is very sunny, so come prepared for that.

In addition to the travel books and maps (both driving maps and hiking maps) mentioned in the prior thread, I will have driving maps of Germany and a cycling map for the Moselle River bike trail. And a few items of travel gear, such as a folding daypack (unused).

You need not bring anything to exchange; just browse and claim what you would like. All I ask is that if what you do bring is not claimed, you take it back home with you.

I’ve got my stack of travel books by the back door ready to go. See you then!

My books are in a stack too, but now I have a change of plans so can't make it!

Planning to come, but I don't have much to share I am afraid. Will look again to see if I have something travel related to share. Have been shopping like a crazy person on Temu for travel stuff just because it is so darn fun. Maybe I will gather up some of those things just to share because I got some great ideas from the website.

Looking forward to it!

There is no need to bring anything to share—just come and claim anything you see that interests you.

I’ll be there with my kids. I’ll take a peek through our travel gear and books to see if we have anything left to pass along. Thanks for organizing, Lola!

Thanks to everyone who came! It was fun to meet you and swap travel stories, and to see some of you find travel gear and resources they could use for future trips. I look forward to organizing another meetup in the fall, or next spring.
