Puget Sound area book and map exchange April 15?

I posted awhile back to measure the interest in this and it appears there is some. The idea is to bring travel books and maps you no longer need, put them on the table I will provide, and let others take what they want. And you might find something you find useful. In the process we can meet and greet, but there will be no formal program. I will have lots of books and maps to share, particularly on Italy, but other places as well.

I propose to meet at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island, where I will claim a picnic table in the open grassy area overlooking the lake, and cover it with a tablecloth. This is a short walk from the Mercer Island Park and Ride if you want to take public transport (Sound Transit bus 550 works from either Seattle or Bellevue). If you drive, park in the North parking lot if you can; it is closest. Dogs are welcome, and can visit the very nice adjacent off-leash area for a swim or play, before or after the meeting. They must be leashed until they reach the off-leash area.

The one thing I ask that you take any unclaimed materials back home. I do not want to be responsible for recycling.

Weather permitting, I will be there from 10 am til 11 or later on Saturday April 15. No need to RSVP; just show up with or without things to share. But I would like to hear of interest, so please respond here.. I look forward to meeting you all.

Some might like to make a day of it and and stop for lunch at the Roanoke Inn after. They have good burgers, etc., and outside seating. But no dogs—they must wait in the car.

If the weather forecast is horrible for that day I will reschedule.

Lola, I’m glad you reposted this because I didn’t see it the first time. I may be able to come over from West Seattle to share. Book/map share is a good idea
