Portland area Travel Group meeting June 15 10:00 am

Two week warning

Back at the regular place
Panera Bread on Nyberg Rd in Tualatin

Thanks all for indulging our field trip to Vancouver. I hope we can the cross border meet again. I think our wait staff got a kick out of all these travelers. The border agents were easy enough to bribe so it all went well on our return

Unfortunately the lovely Sara with an H & I will be traveling. I bet most of you haven't seen Chico, Lodi & Riddley (Fresno) in late June. Reports of 102 in Chico already....sheesh. Carry on (see what I did there) without us. have a good time & keep on traveling

Haven’t been to a Portland travel meeting since pre COVID. Might need to drop back in.

You are most certainly welcome! We have a strong 15-16 most months. Sometimes a few less in heavy travel months and a few more other months when everyone is back in town. There are a couple holdovers from the "before" times. I had attended a few meetings before everything shut down. I think we have stayed true to the previous groups welcoming attitude & generous sharing of travel tips

We would love to meet you Mother Duck!

You’ve picked a bad time to come to my neck of the woods. This week has been really hot, but it should cool a bit at least temporarily. Well, cool by Sacramento Valley standards anyway. At least it’s a dry heat. I’m looking forward to next month when I’ll be up your way. One of these days I hope to get to one of your meetings. Next month on the 3rd Saturday I’ll be in Astoria.

Edited to add that if you’re in the area the Sacramento Travel Group meeting is on the 15th. You’re welcome to join us.

Thanks Andrea
I appreciate the invite. Sacramento (Sacratomato?) & Cour d'Alene are 2 travel groups I want to visit. We will be on the first portion of our roadtrip on the 15th. So we will just miss. My lovely (and talented) Mrs has been looking at the temps & says possible cooling trend so I'm hoping for 82 degrees, sunny & a light wind from the West. ;-)) I have been in Fresno at the end of August for a football game over 20 years ago. It was 109 degrees at kickoff and the stadium ran out of water in the 1st quarter. It was brutal. We are going for a relatives daughter wedding

Astoria is a nice town. We were there 2 years ago about this time & went out to grab a bite & have a cocktail later in the evening. Nothing appealing to us. The streets looked like they rolled up at 9:00 pm. The walkway along the river is pretty cool with ba few shops & breweries scattered along. The Maritime museum is worth a look. Fort Stevens State Park is a nice beach. And of course a nice visit to Costco across the bridge is always a highlight. ;-))

Mark, yes, we answer to Sacratomato! We will be camping on our trip north in an RV. Our family in Washington will be joining us and the “kids” requested Astoria. Why Astoria? They are 80’s kids and love the Goonies. We will follow them back to Washington for a week before we stop in Wilsonville for a few nights to visit with our friends in West Linn. Another stop in southern Oregon before we head home after 3 weeks. I’ll be happy to have some cooler weather. ;-)

We are friends with Scott (through the International Travel Group) and we have known Barb for decades so we already know part of your group!
