Hey Mark,

I thought we were going to sell this special Vancouver, Washington travel group meet up as THE NORTH POLE EXPEDITION? I mean who needs Rovaniami, Finland when you can venture north to the original Vancouver (take that Canada), Washington (state, not district)? Feel the strong brace of east gorge winds down the Columbia lashing at your skin. Welcome to the north slope.

Ho, ho, ho! No door prizes. I mean, tis the season of white elephants, right? I have a duet of brockabrellas that would make a lovely white elephant with a framed portrait of Rick Steves. Or a trio of slightly used travel related jigsaw puzzles, perhaps?

What lovely sentiments sharing our best moments of 2024 travel. You are our glass half full man indeed, Mark. Mwah! We love you for cheerleading us so. I’m the gritty underbelly gal, on the other hand. Tell me your failures, sensei? Let me learn from your failures. Maybe your worst packing choice of the last trip. Like that third pair of shoes. The external battery pack without the right cable to use with your phone. Swimsuits that never got wet. I don’t know but I’ve always subscribed to bad choices make great stories and I’m a novel.

Seriously though, let me personally thank you for getting/keeping/organizing this travel group, cross that, travel friendship going. It’s brought me wonderful friendships, stories, pains and joys every third Saturday of the month. You are a gem. Thank you. See you at the pub!

well I think that meeting yesterday was an all timer. Friends! Waitress in shock at 20ish people showing up! Irish coffee! Prizes! candy canes! and translators! It's going to be hard to top that one.

Thanks to everybody for making this a great year. I truly value the friendships we have made.

Enjoy your holidays & see everyone in January Feliz Navidad
