Meeting for Sacramento Travel Group -Saturday 1/21 @ 10 a.m.

It it time for another meeting! Yes it is. Who wants to talk about travel?

The meetings are always on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m.

Location:

Panera Bread, 3571 North Freeway Blvd, Sacramento
This is off I-80, using the Truxel Rd. exit.

Anyone wanting to attend is welcome. If you need help planning a trip, we have a lot of well traveled people who are happy to give help and advice. Have you been on a trip? I know people will want to hear about it. Do you just want to talk about where you would like to go? We are your people.

If you’re coming I would appreciate it if you reply to this post or otherwise let me know that you will be there. It gives us an idea of how many people we need to have seating for.

If this is your first time, you can find us by looking for the Rick Steves books on the table.

How are our Sacramento friends doing with all this incredible rain? The footage out of there and all the trees that you all are losing is horrible !!

We will be buying a new wood fence for our yard. The previous one did last for over 23 years, but still…Our neighborhood lost some tall, beautiful evergreen trees over 20 years old; completely on their sides with a large, uprooted, root ball :,-(

And this weather isn’t done with us yet…but hopefully the winds won’t be so violent and strong.

Driving down to LA on Monday it rained most of the way. There were times that the windshield wipers could barely keep up. In the San Fernando Valley they received inches of rain. We drove home today and the weather was fine. On the local news this evening they said that in the Sacramento area today it was the first day since Christmas without any measurable rain. Today is dry, then more rain for the next 4 days. We need the rain desperately, but we don’t need it all at once.

Eileen, sorry to hear about your fences.

It’s true about the unending rain. Since December 31 I have emptied our rain gauges every day except the two days it didn’t rain. Our total for less than 2 weeks is > 10”. BTW we won’t be at the meeting on Saturday. We’ll be in Hawaii and hopefully it won’t be so rainy there.

@Mona, I question your loyalty to the group. I just don’t understand why you would choose to be in Hawaii instead of here. Just kidding, I totally get it. Please take me with you. 😉 Have a great time!

Hi Andrea! Visiting my Roseville friends this weekend and hope to stop by. My plane gets in around 9 - so it may not work....but we're hoping. It would add three to your group. Is it okay if we crash your party?

Hi Andrea -
I’m flying home from Seattle late today so I’m afraid I’m going to miss this one.

We will attend on Feb . 18. Niners are on tv now. We are very experienced travelers to Europe however the next trip will be by train instead of car rental. Going for 10 weeks in Sept. Oscar from Roseville

We had a small group today, only 9 of us. Thanks for coming everyone, especially Jody, who flew in for the meeting. Okay, she flew in and she and her friends came to the meeting, so it’s the same thing, right? ;-)
