I will be in Seattle this Friday, June 29th. I am free most of the day on Friday if anyone would like to meet up, have a coffee and talk travel. My flight gets in on Friday at 9:30am and I am free till late afternoon. Please save me from shopping!
If no one is available, my other thought was to head to Edmonds to the RS place. Is it worth going there if there are no classes going on?

Hi there! I am the one who has organized several Seattle meet-ups but not for several years. As a former Alaska resident (Fairbanks), I would love to meet with you and talk travel. I will be in Seattle on Friday for a Dr. appointment, but should be free by noon, or a little before. I will be ready for lunch then, and suggest we meet at a place I often go, with a nice salad bar/hot and cold buffet, pay by weight. It is right downtown, close to the Westlake station on the light rail, which you can easily reach from the airport in about 45 minutes. It is called Market Fresh and the address is 720 Olive Way. Exit the Westlake light rail station by Nordstrom and you will be on Pine Street. Head east on Pine and turn left on 6th or 7th to reach Olive, then go east again almost to 8th. Market Fresh is inside, in the lobby of a brick office building (there is another place you walk through if you enter from Olive). I can arrive a bit early and claim a seating area.
If this sounds OK, I will announce the meetup in a separate post. I might invite people to bring travel books and maps for an exchange as I have been wanting to do that.

That sounds great! I will meet you there! It will be nice to have lunch with a valued forum member and talk travel. And, I guess I will have to do some shopping at Westlake before then. I will pm you my cell phone number in case there is a change.

Excellent! I will bring my little Swiss flag so you will recognize me. I should be able to arrive a bit early and claim some space, hopefully in the comfy chairs. Enter from 8th Avenue and you will come directly into the seating area for Market Fresh. If you enter on Olive, you will walk through a different lunch/ juice bar area and pass the elevators.
I will los bring some travel books and maps that are looking for a new home.
