KC July 16th RS Travel Meeting

Just an early notice of the KC Area Travel Meeting. 10 AM

As usual we will meet at the Panera just west of Liberty on Highway 152. Take exit 16 on North Interstate 35. Go West one block, turn Right at the first intersection the Panera is on the NW corner at the first intersection. We try to get the large table under the hanging light.

Edit: Sorry I forgot to list our regular meeting time of 10 AM.

We always look for people looking for suggestions on any upcoming trip. It is a great way to spend a Saturday morning.

Hi, Robert. We're a little too far away to attend your meeting, but I'm curious: what time do you meet, and how long does the meeting normally last? Kim from Broken Arrow and I are trying to get a group going in the Tulsa area. We've scheduled our first meeting for August 20, at 10:00 a.m. I'm worried that's too early, but Kim and I both have other Saturday obligations. Our other choice is late afternoon, but that could run us into the evening hours, when we also often have commitments.

Hi Jane --
In case this helps ... the SF Bay Area group meets at 12 noon and frequently we are still there at 4pm (but 3pm for sure.)
The Sacramento group begins at 10am and there are a goodly number still there until 3 or 4pm as well. (Most of us from the Bay Area who venture to Sacramento occasionally are rarely there before noon. It's about 1 hour 20 minutes each way.)
We also, by design, meet on different Saturdays.
As the group becomes more established, friendships develop and the distances melt away with the anticipation of shared travel excitement.
Perhaps as your group gets going you can share the responsibility of who arrives early and who stays late.
And with the SF Bay Area group, it started out farther north of San Francisco. However, as it became evident that the developing "core group" was actually farther south and east of northern Marin County, the locale was changed to a more central area.
Best of luck in your meeting adventures!

We meet at 10 AM and go at least an hour. Longer as needed or until we get tired of talking.

Thank you, both. Robert, I was figuring an hour or so, especially as we are starting up.

SharYn, thanks for the details. I'm rather surprised some of the meetings last so long, but on the other hand, I can see how folks could get caught up in the fun. We're back from our latest trip (Villages of South England) only five weeks, and already I'm yearning for the next one. I need a travel fix, and am hoping a travel group will help!
