International Travel Group Zoom Meeting - Sunday, January 5 @ 9:30am Pacific Time

It’s a new year to think about our upcoming travels or just to dream about where we can go in the future. It’s hard to believe that we have been doing these meetings for 4.5 years!

Each meeting we have two topics, a country, region or city in Europe and a more general topic. I’m alway interested to hear any topics you would like to talk about. You can mention them here, during the meeting or send me a PM.

Topics for this month:

  • Ireland
  • When planning a trip how do you decide how flexible you should be with reservations? This topic was held over from last month when we ran out of time.

You must respond each month to let me know you would like to attend. If you have attended before I already have your email address. If not, you need to send it to me in a PM. I will not have time to ask you for it if you neglect to do this. The emails with the zoom link will be emailed 1 - 2 hours before the meeting begins. I will post when I’ve sent them. If you didn’t get it check your junk/spam folder and if it’s not there contact me ASAP. Once the meeting begins I will be unable to do anything.

Future meeting:

Sunday, February 2
Sunday March 2
No meeting in April since I will be traveling

Hi, Andrea and Jim. We have a family wedding so I can't be with you, but don't you mean Sun, not Sat Jan 5 as it states in the subject?

Laurie Beth,
OMG, thank you for pointing out the wrong day of the week. Our local meetings are on Saturday and I really should spend a little more time waking up before I post. Face palm emoji here.

I’m sorry you can’t make it but I hope to see you in February.

I hate missing Ireland! But I leave on Jan 5 for New Zealand so can’t figure out how I would fit it in. (Sad face emoji for missing the meeting).

TTM, sorry about the bad timing but I’m sure you will have a fabulous time on your trip. I will be bugging you for details about your time in Australia since you’re going to be there shortly before I am.

Hi Andrea,
I'll be attending.
I'm getting terrific help from several people in the forum, but I'd like to add Poland as a potential discussion topic, too.

Barbara, we discussed Poland last March so it may be a while before we revisit it unless enough people tell me they are interested. Sorry…

Andrea, we won’t be attending this January, but are thinking about visiting Poland in May 2025. We’d be very interested in a Poland discussion option in the near future. Thank you, and have a great Ireland/lodging planning meeting next week!

I’m always bummed when I can’t attend one of your fun and fabulous zooms.
We have cousins visiting from Croatia, they arrived last Friday, and were taking them to Florida Saturday to DisneyWorld, they have a 9 year old daughter, and Ft Lauderdale to visit more family.
Luckily I’m free in February and March.

Andrea, i enjoyed the last one I was able to attend. This one might be tight, but if you dont mind me tying up a place ... i will be traveling but if I can get Wifi in the cafe or on the train, why not? Sure, I will try.

Like Nigel, I don't speak Irishness, but I am fluent in Bulmer's (pronounced MAG-nerz in the UK and elsewhere). I would love to be part of Sunday's meeting. Slainte!

I just sent the zoom link to your emails. Please let me know asap if you didn’t receive it. I will log on at 9:15ish, so feel free to log in early if you want to chat. Once I log in I won’t be able to help anyone having a problem.

See you all soon!

on the 2025 travel requirements topic/issue, this is what the US State Dept says on their website:

If you are planning to visit, transit and/or travel through European countries, you should be familiar with the requirements of the Schengen Agreement.

Your passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay. If you plan on transiting a Schengen country, review our U.S. Travelers in Europe page.

You will need sufficient proof of funds and a return plane ticket.

For additional information about visas for the Schengen area, see the Schengen Visa page.

I missed this post and the meeting, darn. Ireland is one of the few European countries I have been to more than once. Oh well……I’m putting the February meeting on my calendar.
