International Travel Group Meeting Sunday, September 8 @ 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time

We welcome everyone no matter where you live, so if you like to talk about travel please join us. Each meeting there will be topics to discuss. One topic will be focused on a country or large city. Please make suggestions of future places in Europe you may want to talk about. It could be a destination you are going to or considering, or even a place that you have a lot of knowledge of and would like to share with others.

Topics for this month:

  • Paris…because it’s always a good idea
  • How has travel changed as you have gotten older and have more time? Do you travel longer? Do you take more taxis or only book places with elevators? Have you made any other concessions?

Let me know in a reply to this post or with a PM if you are interested in joining us. If you have participated previously I already have your email address. If you haven’t you will need to send it to me in a PM.

I will be emailing the Zoom link an hour or two before the meeting begins.

If you have told me you want to attend and then find out you can’t make it I would appreciate you letting me know.
Ideas for future meetings are welcome and can be brought up during the meeting, or you can PM me if you prefer.

Future meetings will be -

No meeting in October because I will be traveling
November 3 We will be returning from Paris the night before the meeting. Don’t be surprised if we are out of it! The clocks change back to standard time this day, so don’t forget the change them.

I’m bumping this up in case anyone missed it.

I think it needs another bump.

What do you think of how the USA has been bullying its way through the Paralympics?

Posted by

This most definitely did not need a bump. We have a big group this month. We are at 33 people, not including me and Jim.

If anyone finds that they can’t participate, please let me know if possible.

"What do you think of how the USA has been bullying its way through the Paralympics?”

An FYI, here in France the TV coverage of the Paralympics pays no attention to what the Americans are doing.

I don't want to follow the red herring but I have no idea how the US Paralympic athletes are doing or if they are bullies.

What I do know is that Great Britain is second on the medal table, only China has more medals. Not a clue how many the US has.

What does this have to do with travel or the announced topics for today's gathering?

I just sent the emails with the zoom link. If you have not received yours I can see what I can do about it as long as I am notified before 9:00. Unfortunately, because of the size of the group this month I won’t be able to add anyone that has not already responded and provided their email address.

Exactly - China and UK stand atop the medal table. France is in 8th.

The UK can be very proud of its team !!

Tammy, here it is:

We fly to Munich and go directly to Salzburg. We will do at least one day trip back to Munich for the opening day of Oktoberfest. Then we go to Vienna, Budapest, Krakow, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Torun, Germany to visit family, and ending in Paris. I would have liked more time in Paris, but we wanted to be back for the election.

Hi Andrea, I need to get back to Paris and spend more than four days as I’ve done in the past. Such good info on some museums I’ve not visited. Thanks for hosting.

Coincidentally, on Monday morning (this morning) there was a two-days-only promo announced for United / Chase cardholders for deeply discounted award flights to a few airports in Europe, including CDG !!

Inspired by our zoom on Sunday, I am now booked for Thanksgiving week in Paris, yay.

Now I have to root for unusually warm weather ... ...
