International Travel Group Meeting-Sunday September 3rd @ 9:30a.m. Pacific Time

Do you like to travel and have discussions about it with like minded people? If yes, this is the place for you. Please feel free to join us, no matter where you live. I know it is a holiday weekend, but I hope you have a couple of hours free. We will be in Washington, so 🤞🏼 I don’t forget to take my laptop and your email addresses with me.

Each meeting there will be topics to discuss.

Topics for this month:

  • What have you splurged on when traveling and did you feel like it was worth it? This could be an event, private tour, a special meal or anything else that you would consider a splurge.

  • Do you prefer to fly on a specific airline and if so, why do you choose that one? At what point once you’ve started planning do you decide it is time to purchase the ticket?

Please let me know in a reply to this post or with a PM if you are interested. If you have participated previously I already have your email address. If you haven’t you will need to send it to me in a PM. If you have told me you are interested and later find you can’t participate please let me know.

I will be emailing the Zoom link an hour or two before the meeting begins.

Please think of some topics for future meetings and share them during the meeting or you can PM me if you prefer.

Upcoming meetings will be:
October 1
November 5 (note that daylight saving time ends this day)
December 3

Hi Andrea. Interesting topics! I don't know how you manage to come up with new ones every time. I'm now counting the days to the 3rd.

Chani, I can’t take all of the credit for coming up with the topics. These topics were Barbara’s suggestion, and she has given me a few other past topics as well. I welcome all topic suggestions from everyone and we can consider reintroducing any past topics if it has been awhile since they were discussed.

Hi everyone, I’m traveling and brought my laptop and your email addresses with me. Hopefully the laptop won’t give me any problems. If it does I have my trusty iPad. See you tomorrow!

Andrea, I’m sorry but I have to bow out. I totally forgot tomorrow is Labor Day and so I need to run all my errands today. We’ll see you next month!

Mardee, happy Labor Day. I'll miss having you on the call. BTW, WCCO mentioned snow twice this morning! Reminded us fall is coming and MN averages 7" of the white stuff in the autumn months. Oh, dear. Enjoy the hot day today.

That’s okay Mardee, I’m actually surprised that so many people were available today. I would have chosen a different Sunday, but I won’t be home for the next two Sundays and the only Sunday I will be home is just one week before the October meeting. I hope you can make it for that one.

Yikes! My husband has been a weather watcher for WCCO since that program started. He uses a flat board with a flag on it to measure the snowfall. I'm hoping this upcoming season is nowhere as snowy as the last one.

These Zoom meetings seem like a great way to to gain more travel knowledge and tips. We are busy getting ready for our Norway trip and celebrating Labor Day weekend, but I might ask to join in at a future date.

mnannie, please do join us (before the snow flies.) Today's call was especially good, especially when we all excitedly talked about travel splurges. Andrea and Jim are so great at keeping us going. Even though it is Zoom, I feel the people on the call are becoming my friends. I love to hear their travel advice and stories.

LaurieBeth and mnannie, noooooooo!!!!!!!! I do not want another record-breaking year! I just checked AccuWeather and my 45 day forecast shows a bit of snow towards the very end of October, but of course that's about as accurate as me going outside and sniffing the air. And yes, mnannie, definitely join the Zoom group! I was so sorry I had to miss it, but it was just me and my grandson and his nurse yesterday and I had to run all over town for his meds and other stuff the nurse needed. Plus get groceries since Costco is closed today. But I will be there next month!
